More multitouch – Wii-based whiteboard!

Update: Johnny’s website has moved. The new site is here:http://johnnylee.net/projects/wii/

Came across Johnny Lee’s work on using the Wiimote as a low-cost IR camera for interacting with displays. He’s got a couple of really neat applications demo’d on his site: http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~johnny/projects/wii/

The one that really caught my eye was one that could turn any surface into a multitouch display interface using only a Wiimote and a projecter or LCD panel. Check it out:

Amazing! I’m going to do that with my Wii!

It looks like all you really need is a computer with bluetooth adapter and a display device, along with the software you can download at his site.

Let me know if you manage to get it working – I don’t have bluetooth yet.

I am going to try it also, I need to get a Wii controller first.
